Last year we asked for volunteers to resurrect the neighbourhood watch scheme, but only one person showed interest. If the apathy was down to the low level of problems on the estate, it is fairly understandable. However, sadly, these past months have seen an increase in crime and disorder, with housebreaking's and vandalism, and we can no longer be complacent. An active neighbourhood watch can provide a useful link between the residents and the police. About six coordinators, spread around the estate, would enable it to get off the ground.
